Abstract THz-based technologies and research applications have seen a rapid increment in recent period together with the development of novel radiation sources based both on relativistic electrons laser techniques. In this framework, laser-induced plasma filament plays an important role generating intense broadband THz radiation. Although many attentions been paid to emission from two-color filaments, one-color has scarcely investigated. particular, polarization state is still controversial due limitations existing detection techniques, which are incapable simultaneously detecting elliptically radially polarized manuscript, we develop method unambiguously demonstrate for first time that emits These states suggest generation mechanism results electric quadrupole, showing new route producing more complex vortex beams.
